ACCESSIBILITY

Introduction

The Timble Inn is a romantic Grade II Listed, 18th Century Coaching Inn situated in the Washburn Valley. The property is located just off the A59 Skipton Rd near Blubberhouses and is a short walk from Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs.

The property has a total of 9 bedrooms, 2 of which are recommended for accessibility. There is also a guest lounge and patio area for outdoor dining/seating.

Due to the age and layout of the building it is with regret we advise that the building may not suitable for guests with severe mobility issues. Full access to the building and its services will require guests to navigate a number of stairs making access for those with mobility issues difficult.

It is possible to be able to access our ground floor rooms, the main bar/restaurant and the rear garden with a wheelchair but we advise that care be taken and assistance requested if there are any doubts.

Travel by Public Transport

We do NOT recommend travelling to the Timble Inn by public transport.

The nearest bus is on Church Hill. The bus stop is 2 miles from The Timble Inn.

You can get a taxi with SJK taxis by calling 0113 250 5222. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Parking

There is on street parking near the venue. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 40 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.

The road from the car parking to the main entrance is level access with no curbs.

Arrival

All guests are required to check in at the welcome desk downstairs in the main bar.

Here guests will be guided to their rooms by a member of staff and keys will be provided.

When you arrive we can help carry your luggage.

Path to Main Entrance

From the street to the main entrance, there is level access.

The path is 3000mm wide, or more.

Main Entrance

The main entrance has a small threshold measuring approx. 30mm high.

The main door is inwards opening.

The door is 880mm wide and 1870mm high.

Cottage Entrance

The cottage entrance has a step measuring 150mm high.

The door measures 880mm wide and 1900mm high.

The door is inwards opening.

GETTING AROUND INSIDE

Visual Impairment – General Information

Walkways are kept clear with level access throughout the ground floor (excluding the step in our upper snug area).

The floors within the restaurant are natural stone and as such will have inconsistencies and are uneven in parts.

Some parts of the venue have low lighting.

Lawn Area

From the main entrance to the lawn area, there is level access. The route is approx. 28 metres long.

Terrace/Decking Area • From the main entrance to this area, there is level access. The path is 850mm wide in most parts. The entrance to the terrace is approx. 1 metre wide

There is one table with 6 seats available on ground level. The table is 760mm high.

There are four tables available on the upper level of the deck. There are 2 steps to the upper level each measuring 150mm in height.

Public Toilet

There are male and female toilets for all visitors.

From the main entrance to the toilet, there is level access. The route is 900mm wide, or more.

The toilet doors are approx. 800mm wide and inward opening.

There is 600mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 485mm high.

There are no grab rail next to the toilets.

Place to Eat and Drink

From the main entrance to the main dining area, there is level access. The route is approx. 900mm wide at its narrowest. To get to a table, there are no steps except for tables 16-20 located on the upper level in the snug which has one step measuring approx. 150mm high.

The menu is offered in large print upon request.

The route through the dining area is 800mm wide at its narrowest point.

Background music is played throughout the restaurant.

We cater for vegetarian/vegan/coeliac specific diets upon request. Any special dietary requests must be made prior to arrival.

BEDROOMS

The property has 9 bedrooms.

7 of the bedrooms are first floor bedrooms, 2 bedrooms are ground floor rooms with level access (Rooms 1 & 3).

We have hypo-allergenic bedding available.

All bedrooms have windows.

Bedrooms have ceiling lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.

TVs have subtitles.

All bedrooms are non-smoking.

Room 1

The route to the bedroom is 750mm wide, or more and approx. 13 metres from the main entrance.

The bedroom door is 880mm wide and 1900mm high with a small threshold measuring 30mm.

The bed is king sized (5” wide & 6”6 long) and measures approx. 700mm high.

There is unobstructed floor space 1200mm by 900mm, or more.

The bathroom has a bath measuring 520mm high. The bath has an overheard shower.

There are no supporting handrails in the bathroom.

Room 3

The route to the bedroom is 750mm wide, or more and approx. 45 metres from the main entrance.

The bedroom door is 880mm wide and 1900mm high.

The entrance is level access with a small threshold 30mm high.

The bed is king sized (5” wide & 6”6 long) and measures approx. 700mm high.  There is unobstructed floor space 1200mm by 900mm, or more.

The bathroom has a level access shower.

There are no supporting handrails in the bathroom.

Accessibility Equipment

We can provide water bowls for assistance dogs on request.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures

We have emergency evacuation procedures for disabled visitors.

Customer Care Support

Due to the layout of our restaurant and the uneven flooring we do not provide high chairs for guest use.
